Hallagan Consulting

Ronald T. Hallaganis President/CEO of Hallagan Consulting, LLC, a management consulting business providing executive leadership coaching, management and team training, and the development of environmental management systems to the hospitality industry. The business’ primary client focus includes government agencies, military facilities, national parks, cultural institutions and corporations providing food, retail or recreation services to their visitors and staff.

Hallagan has 35 years of operational experience, the last 15 as Vice President of Operations for a $400 million/year hospitality firm providing a broad array of services to government agencies, businesses, schools, museums, military and the National Park Service. His guiding priorities as he moved up in the corporation were customer service, client relations, profitability, employee empowerment and integrity.

His park responsibilities included the National Mall & Memorial Parks, the most visited national park in the country (20 million/year). To enhance Visitors Services, he partnered with the National Park Service’s educational and interpretive experts, cultivated working relationships with the Smithsonian’s Visitor Information Center, US Capitol Visitor Center and the White House Visitor Center; and he was integral to building and operating the DC Visitor Information Center for the DC Chamber of Commerce (1998 to 2005).

Hallagan established the company’s first Environmental Management Program in 2001, winning recognition from the National Park Service in 2007, the District of Columbia in 2008 and GSA in 2010 after piloting the first cafeteria in the GSA system to have 100% composted and recycled waste products. Hallagan now assists other organizations with implementing environmental management systems and is a member of Sustainable Business Network of Washington (SB NOW).

Hallagan currently serves on the Advisory Board for James Madison University's School of Hospitality, Sport and Recreation Management, is a member of the Sustainable Business Network of Washington and is former chairman of the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington and 5-year board member of Destination DC.

Hallagan received his MA in Business Management from Central Michigan University; a BA in Hotel, Restaurant Management from Michigan State University; Haute Cuisine certificate from L’Academie de Cuisine; and Sommelier’s certificate from the Washington Sommelier Society.

He and his wife, Patsy, live in McLean, Virginia, where they raised their three children, now 25, 21 and 19.
